Essay on Chaar Sahibzaade 100 words

Char Sahibzade is a term used for Guru Gobind Singh’s (Nanaji X) four sons, all of whom became martyrs. “Sahibzade” refers to sons or gandhas, young people of gentlemanly birth. While still quite young, their names are reverently remembered in Sikh memory and are invoked whenever Sikhs recite Ardas or prayers of prayer. The martyrdom of the Char Sahibzadas is an important part of Sikh history, and the occasion of their martyrdom is commemorated with great enthusiasm every year in December by a large number of Sikhs through the Sikh Sangat (sacred congregation).

December 21st and 26th are very special days for Sikhs all over the world because it was on these dates in 1704 that the old Sahibzade Baba Ajit Singh and Baba Jujhar Singh first designated the 21st and then the 26th as their heavenly abode. On the 26th, the Mughal ruler of Sirhind cruelly and inhumanly extinguished the delicate and tender light of Chhote Sahibzade, Baba Zorawar Singh, and Baba Fateh Singh.

Guru Gobind Singh, the Sikhs’ tenth Guru, had three wives. On June 21, 1677, Guru Gobind Singh married Mata Jeeto ji at the age of ten in Basantgarh, 10 kilometers from Anandpur. “Nikkiyan Zindaan, Vadda Saka,”. The Sikh Sangat utters these words whenever the martyrdom of Guru Gobind Singh ji’s younger Sahibzadas is remembered.

About their separation: When Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s family was divided at the Sarsa river, the elder Sahibzade went with Guru Ji, while the younger Sahibzade, Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh, stayed with Mata Gujri Ji. There was no soldier with him, and he could not return to his family.

Gangu, the servant: On the way, they ran into Gangu, who had previously worked for Guru Mahal. Gangu assures them that he will reunite them with their families, but they must wait until then.

Sahibzade and Mata Gujri: Mata Gujri ji and Sahibzade went to Gangu’s house, unaware of Gangu’s true identity. Gangu became greedy and immediately informed Wazir Khan of the presence of Gobind Singh’s mother and younger Sahibzads, for which Wazir Khan rewarded him with gold stamps.

Wazir Khan: As soon as the news reached Wazir Khan’s soldiers, they went to Gangu’s house and arrested Mata Gujri, Sahibzada Zorawar Singh, and Sahibzada Fateh Singh, all of whom were under the age of seven. They were brought and kept in a cold tower without even being given a piece of cloth to keep them warm.
