I’d like to speak briefly about Indian Army Day as we are going to celebrate this day this month. Every year on January 15th, Indian Army Day is observed. It is honored because on this day in 1949, Field Marshal Kodandera M. Cariappa was appointed the first Indian Commander in Chief of the Indian Army. The East India Company formed the Indian Army in the eighteenth century under the British Government.
The British government had control of the Indian Army for nearly two centuries. The assumption of the post of Chief of the Indian Army in 1947 is thus noticeable in Indian history. It represents the complete removal of the British from our country. It is observed at the Amar Jawan Jyoti at India Gate, as well as at all Army Offices and the Indian Armed Forces Headquarters.

I’ve always wanted to join the Indian Army and serve my motherland since I was a child, and I’m still aiming for it. We should all recognize the importance of such a large army and, if we are able, join it. Soldiers serve as the backbone of every country. They are ready to fight for their country and its citizens 24 hours a day, seven days a week to keep their country safe and its citizens safe from external terrors. They put themselves in danger to save the lives of the people who live in the country. They are always willing to give their lives for the sake of the country, without regard for themselves or their families. They leave all of their comforts and family behind to serve their country, and not everyone possesses the same courage as a soldier.
I’d like to conclude my remarks by thanking our true heroes for joining us today and making this event memorable for all of us, as well as our management committee and event organizers for organizing such a wonderful event and providing us with the opportunity to express our gratitude and respect for our Great Indian Army.

Cariappa, in 1949. The Indian Army is the Indian Armed Forces’ land-based branch, and it is responsible for defending our country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. It has a long history that dates back to the early 18th century and has played an important role in several conflicts and wars, including the India-Pakistan wars and the Kargil conflict.
The Indian Army’s soldiers are known for their bravery, discipline, and professionalism, and they are extremely respected and admired by the Indian people. Indian Army Day is an important milestone after India’s independence because it represents India gaining control of its defenses.
