Every year on January 26th, Republic Day is celebrated with great pomp and circumstance because we all know that the Indian Constitution came into force on this day. We all know that our country gained independence on August 15, 1947, and that our Constitution came into effect on this auspicious day.

Since then, we have taken great pride in celebrating Republic Day. Now I will end my speech and ask that everyone should observe a moment of silence in honour of the great souls who gave their lives for the freedom of this proud country. I’d like to thank the respected teachers who allowed me to express myself in front of you.

Republic Day Speech for Students (2 Minute speech on Republic Day)

Republic Day Speech for Students: Good morning, everyone, on this auspicious occasion of India’s Republic Day. This year marks the 74th anniversary of India’s Republic Day. As we gather here today to commemorate our nation’s Republic Day, I am overwhelmed with pride and gratitude for all that our country has attained.

This is a day to honour the struggles and sacrifices of our freedom fighters who fought for our nation’s sovereignty and independence. The Indian Constitution, which went into effect on this day in 1950, is a testament to the democratic, just, liberty, and egalitarian values that have guided our country since its inception.  It ensures certain fundamental rights to all citizens and establishes a framework for the government to operate in a transparent and accountable manner.

As we celebrate this day, let us remember that much work remains to be done to make sure that these values are legitimate and that every citizen has access to education, healthcare, and a fair chance to succeed. It is our collective responsibility to create a more equitable and peaceful world and a better future for all. Let us revive our pledge to build a strong and vibrant nation that the world respects and admires on this Republic Day.

Thank you all

Republic Day Speech for Students:  Good morning to all those who have come to witness this auspicious occasion. Today is our country’s 74th republic day, and we are all here to celebrate this day. I am honoured and obligated to deliver a speech on Republic Day. Republic Day, observed annually on January 26th, has historical significance in India. To make the event memorable, we celebrate it every year with joy, enjoyment, and honour in our hearts. As we all know, the Indian constitution came into existence on January 26, 1950, and since then, we, the people of India, have celebrated it as our country’s Republic Day. We all know that India gained independence on August 15, 1947, but the country did not have its own constitution. However, after much deliberation and consideration, a committee led by Dr BR Ambedkar submitted a draught of the Indian constitution, which was adopted on November 26, 1949, and came into effect on January 26, 1950.

I’d like to conclude this speech by stating that India is a democratic country. Citizens in a democratic country have the right to vote for their leader to lead the country. Although there has been significant progress, we still face a number of issues such as pollution, poverty, unemployment, and so on. One thing we can all do is promise each other that we will strive to be better versions of ourselves in order to contribute to solving all of these problems and making our country a better place.

Thank you and JAI HIND!

Republic Day Speech for Students (Republic Day Speech in English PDF)

Republic Day Speech for Students: Greetings and Happy Republic Day to everyone. First and foremost, I’d like to thank you for joining us in celebrating Republic Day. Today, on January 26th, we have assembled to celebrate India’s 74th Republic Day. As you are all aware, it is a national holiday that we all celebrate as Indians. National festivals, like religious festivals, have their own significance. On this day in 1950, India received its constitution, and every year on January 26th, Republic Day is celebrated with zeal.

As we all know that our country was once dependent on the British and ruled by them. We had to follow the British rules and regulations during slavery. The British used to look down on Indians. Indians had no rights in their own country. The British tortured Indians in a variety of ways. As a result, the country’s youth, intellectuals, and common people began to fight for freedom.

Finally, on 15 August 1947, India gained independence, and two and a half years later, on 26 January 1950, India became a Democratic Republic. This day is more significant because, prior to January 26, 1950, Indians were forced to obey British-made laws. Democracy refers to the right of the people living in a country to elect their representatives as political leaders, which is guaranteed by the Indian constitution. The basic duties, rules, and regulations of all citizens are mentioned in the Indian Constitution. On this day, various states put on a large display of Indian culture and tradition to demonstrate India’s unity in diversity. The Indian Army’s display of strength in the Republic Day parade assures the people of the country that they are safe.

It honours the day in 1950 when the Constitution of India took effect, replacing the Government of India Act 1935 as India’s governing document and establishing the country as a republic. On this day, the national capital, New Delhi, hosts a grand parade attended by dignitaries from around the world as well as a large number of citizens. The Republic Day parade begins at Rashtrapati Bhavan and continues to India Gate. It features floats portraying various aspects of Indian culture and heritage, as well as a display of military hardware and a schoolchildren’s parade. The Prime Minister of India pays flowers and candles to the martyrs at the Amar Jawan Jyoti at India Gate. Brave soldiers are awarded the Param Vir Chakra, Ashok Chakra, and Vir Chakra.

Lastly, I would like to conclude by saying that, On this wonderful Republic Day, we should all take an oath to uphold the Constitution and work in the best interests of our country. This is where I will end my speech and ask that everyone observe a moment of silence in honour of the great souls who gave their lives for the freedom of this proud country. I’d like to thank the regarded teachers who allowed me to express myself in front of you.

Thank you all and JAI HIND!
